Registration is now open for the 12th annual Mat-Su Salmon Science & Conservation Symposium, in Palmer, Alaska November 13 & 14.

The Symposium is a forum to share information on Mat-Su Basin watersheds, salmon, and salmon habitat; promoting an exchange of ideas about salmon science and conservation. Register and learn more here. Abstract submission closes October 7th.

2019 Kenai & Mat-Su Science Symposiums

Save the date for these two events!

April 18, 2019. The Kenai Fish Habitat Partnership is hosting a one-day Science Symposium. 9-5pm. Free! Cannery Lodge, Kenai, AK. Click here for more information and to register.

November 13-14, 2019. The 12th annual Mat-Su Salmon Science and Conservation Symposium will be at the Palmer Depot, Palmer, AK. Hosted by the Mat-Su Salmon Partnership, the Symposium is a forum to share information and promoting an exchange of ideas about salmon science and conservation. Learn more here.

2018 Mat-Su Salmon Symposium

November 14-15 in Palmer, AK.

The Symposium is a forum to share information on Mat-Su Basin watersheds, salmon, and salmon habitat; promoting an exchange of ideas about salmon science and conservation. Our 2018 Keynote Speaker is Langdon Cook.  a writer, instructor, and lecturer on wild foods and the outdoors, who will share scenes from his book Upstream: Searching for Wild Salmon, From River to Table, a finalist for the Washington State Book Award.  

Online registration closes November 7th. There will be a $25 registration fee per day. This includes lunch, snacks and refreshments. Student registration is free. If you have difficulty with registration expenses, please contact matsusalmon@tnc.org or 907-865-5713. Full refunds available until online registration closes on November 7th.  Please register online here .

This was our first ever fishy storytelling event held in association with, and in recognition of the 10th year hosting the Mat-Su Salmon Science and Conservation Symposium, and it was fabulous! Thanks to our wonderful storytellers, Emcee Mike Wood, organizer Emily Tallman, local band Mountain Waxwings, and all of you who attended.
