SAVE THE DATE: The 19th annual Mat-Su Salmon Science and Conservation Symposium will be November 19 and 20, 2026 at the Palmer Depot in Palmer, Alaska (610 S. Valley Way).
Once the field and fishing season winds down and the gear is cleaned and put away, it’s time to gather, reflect, and look ahead. Each November, the Mat-Su Basin Salmon Habitat Partnership hosts a two-day forum dedicated to the science, restoration, and proactive conservation of salmon and their habitat throughout the Mat-Su Basin.
Whether you are a scientist, conservation practitioner, local leader, or simply someone passionate about wild salmon, this gathering is for you. Join around 100 others who care about Mat-Su salmon to share information, spark new collaborations, and celebrate the Matanuska and Susitna River watersheds.
Registration opens early September 2026.
Got compelling research, a successful restoration project, or fresh insight to share with the community? The call for presentation proposals will open in early September and close in October. We welcome diverse perspectives and topics related to salmon and their habitat in the Mat-Su.
