Waters to Watch

2007Feb22944_ed_lores.jpg

Each year The National Fish Habitat Partnership (NFHP)  recognizes 10 “Waters to Watch”  from across the nation. NFHP’s Waters to Watch are a collection of rivers, streams, estuaries, watershed systems and lakes from across the country that will benefit from strategic conservation efforts to protect, restore or enhance their current condition. These waters also provide a snapshot of efforts by Fish Habitat Partnerships nationwide. The Waters To Watch annual campaign goal is to highlight community based conservation efforts that lead to the reversal of the persistent declines in our nation’s aquatic habitats.

The Mat-Su Basin has water bodies listed on NFHP’s Waters to Watch list. Learn about these local waters, and the great work partners are doing by rolling your mouse over the Waters to Watch tab along the top menu of our website and selecting Wasilla Creek, Cottonwood Creek, or Big Lake.
